על יד(י) האל בספין יציאת מצרים בדורה אירופוס

ציורי הקיר בבית הכנסת העתיק בדורה אירופוס מציגים לראשונה דימוי חזותי המגלם את הנוכחות וההתגלות האלוהית בעולם בהקשר המקראי. היד האלוהית המייצגת את נוכחות האל מופיעה בחמישה ספינים בציורי בית הכנסת, ומאמר זה מתמקד באחד מהם — ספין יציאת מצרים. הדיון מפנה מחד גיסא מבט רחב למוטיב החזותי של יד האל לשם בירור שורשיו הרעיוניים במחשבה היהודית ומקורותיו האיקונוגרפיים, ומאידך גיסא הוא מפנה מבט ממוקד למקומו של מוטיב זה בספין יציאת מצרים, על היבטיו האיקונוגרפיים והספרותיים. כמו כן המאמר בוחן את הדימוי של יד האל בתיאורים החזותיים של יציאת מצרים ביצירה היהודית והנוצרית בשלהי העת העתיקה.
