קריאה ב"חיבוק" לדויד גרוסמן ומיכל רובנר כיצירת אמנות

בשנת 2011 ראה אור חיבוק, ספר הילדים שכתב דויד גרוסמן ורשמה ועיצבה האמנית מיכל רובנר. מאמר זה מבקש לטעון כי הבנת האמנות של רובנר היא מפתח לקריאה בחיבוק, כך שאי אפשר להבין את הספר ולעמוד על מורכבותו ללא התייחסות לתפיסת העולם האמנותית שלה, ולביטוייה של תפיסה זו בנושאים ובמוטיבים הבולטים בעבודותיה השונות. למרות זאת, עד כה חיבוק נדון רק במסגרת דיונים על ספרות ילדים, ובידי אנשים מתחום הספרות. המאמר הנוכחי מציע עיון מחודש בחיבוק לאו דווקא כספר ילדים )או לא רק כספר ילדים(, אלא בראש ובראשונה כיצירת אמנות שלמה — imagetext , שבה הטקסט והדימויים הוויזואליים שווים במשקלם ואחוזים זה בזה, מתוך אמונה באיכויותיה המיתיות והטרנספורמטיביות של האמנות. קריאה כזו לא נעשתה עד כה בספר זה, אם בשל ההיכרות המועטה של הציבור הישראלי הרחב עם רובנר ועבודותיה, ואם בשל תיוגו של חיבוק כספר ילדים — תיוג שהוביל לצמצום והגבלה של הפרשנות לספר, בשל האופן הלא־מורכב שבו נהוג לרוב לקרוא ספרות ילדים.
