 Submissions

Submissions are made via Email.

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will undergo double-blind peer review process before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected. The purpose of the review process is to provide an expert, fair, and unbiased evaluation of the article.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents, and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research arguments are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise, and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

All submissions must meet the following requirements:

This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

ü  This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.

ü  All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.

ü  All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.

ü  Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.

ü  If you have not already done so, please register with ORCID and include your ORCID number on the Title page with your submission.

The submission should include

✅ The article, ready to blind review, without personal details

✅Abstract of up to 150 words (in Hebrew and in English)

✅A separate document of the author’s details and contact information

✅ Additional files - such as list of figures, high-resolution figures etc.

Author Guidelines

Manuscripts should be submitted as a Word document, using David font for Hebrew and Times New Roman for English, font size 12, double-spaced, with single spacing between words and no additional spacing between paragraphs. Each paragraph should begin with an indentation (tab), except for the paragraph following a heading or a blank line.

The length of articles must not exceed 15,000 words, including footnotes. Authors are required to submit a separate file containing an abstract of up to 150 words. The length of review articles, including reviews of scholarly books and exhibitions, must not exceed 1,000 words.

 Images and copyright

Mabatim encourages the use of visual material. Authors are required to submit high-resolution images (at least 300 DPI), to secure all copyright permissions, and to provide written confirmation of these permissions to the journal’s editorial team. Each image must be accompanied by the required credit line and a brief caption describing the image. Responsibility for obtaining copyright permissions rests solely with the author.

At the initial stage of submission for peer review, authors must submit a separate Word file containing a list of images, including clearly identified images and full descriptions in accordance with the relevant citation guidelines. Images should be referenced in the body of the text using parentheses, for example: (Figure 1).

Notes should appear as footnotes at the bottom of the page, not as endnotes at the end of the article.
