About the Journal

Mabatim is a peer-reviewed academic journal annual published in Hebrew by the Department of the Arts at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.

The journal is officially recognized by the Planning and Budgeting Committee (PBC) of the Council for Higher Education in Israel.

As an Open-Access online publication, Mabatim serves as a premier platform for original research in the fields of art history and visual culture, encompassing all periods, themes, and media. In addition to scholarly articles, each issue includes dedicated sections for exhibition reviews and critical reviews of non-fiction and academic books.
